How do I prep for college if I don’t know what to do ?

Hello! I am a junior in high school currently, and I don’t know exactly what I want to do. I want to start prepping for college applications in the summer, but it’s hard to prep when you have no specific plans yet. All I can say for sure is that I want to study biomedical science/forensics, and I’d prefer to work in a laboratory setting. I suppose my main question(s) are: What majors should I look into, and what colleges are good for these majors? Also, what careers fit these interests? Thank you!

Great time to ask these types of questions. You are in a good position to take dual credit or AP courses so you can avoid retaking these courses at college. Does your high school offer any vocational training options in the biomedical field? Do you have a company in mind you want to work for? If so, find the current job openings to see what the qualifications would likely be to work there. Do you have family or friends in that career field already? Ask them what to do and how to do it. Never be afraid of learning new things. Good luck, you will do well.

While AI shouldn't be used to write college application essays, AI can be used to answer questions like your about the college application process! You could ask any AI program questions such as "I want to study biomedical science/forensics, and I’d prefer to work in a laboratory setting. What majors should I consider, which colleges are good for these majors, and which careers fit these interests?" See what answers the AI program provides, then refine your questions with details such as whether you prefer a large, medium, or small student body, an urban, suburban, or rural campus, a large public university or a small liberal arts college (or something in between), and which part of the country you prefer (e.g. northeast, mid-Atlantic, southeast, south, southwest, California, Pacific Northwest, or midwest). Keep refining your conversation with AI, and from there you can probably start a list of schools to consider.
