You will have to check with what may be different in Ghana...
In the USA, after high school one completes college/university with excellent grades. One takes an exam called the MCATs (often with tutors in advance to get good marks). One applies to medical schools hoping your grades, MCAT scores, and personal letter explaining why they should choose you over others will compel them to pick you to join them.
Medical school is 4 years, although in some countries one can combine college with medical school for a 6-7 year program.
In the US one cannot practice just by graduating from medical school. One must also complete a minimum of one year (each state has its own rules and regulations) - and most complete a 3-year residency in order to become a licensed physician.
Your enjoyment of sports and reading are good - most medical schools look for well-rounded individuals. They are also looking for leadership skills and strong values that compel you to be in the healing profession.
Good luck!

Rita’s Answer

This is your pathway:
4 years high school
4 years college
4 years medical school
minimum of 3 years internship/residency depending on your field (internal medicine, family practice, pediatrics) but OB-Gyn, Psychiatry, Surgery require more years of training
if you want to specialize (GI, Cardiology, Rheumatology, etc), you will need to do additional training after your internal medicine internship/residency
