I want guidance on choosing my final year project. How can I figure out which aerospace domain I’m most interested in”?

I am an aerospace engineering student currently studying subjects like thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and CFD. I have worked on topics such as Fourier’s law and basic CFD domain setup.

I have some experience with software tools like ANSYS and MATLAB, and I am interested in simulation-based and analytical work.

I am still exploring different areas within aerospace, including aerodynamics, propulsion, and thermal systems, but I am not yet sure which domain suits me best. I would appreciate guidance on how to identify the area where I can perform well and stay motivated.

My career goal is to work in the aerospace industry, so I would like to choose a final year project that is practical, relevant, and aligned with industry needs.

What I would do: Do research on which technologies, US/Canadian/EURO/Indian government policy shifts, geo-political trends, and other macro-level forces are disrupting the aerospace industry the most. Pick the most consequential of these and design your final year project on analyzing the impacts that this disruption will likely have on the aerospace industry. Such a project will put you in a good position to attract the attention from potential employers.
