How can you reach out to people who have the job that I want outside of my reach?
I have a bunch of family members who work/ have worked in the medical industry, although I have yet to meet someone who has done sonography.

Hi Breana,
LinkedIn is honestly a great platform for this. You can search “sonography” and find people near you with titles like Diagnostic Medical Sonographer or Ultrasound Technologist.
A lot of people are open to answering questions if you keep it short and genuine (you can send a message to them directly). It’s also a really good way to start networking and making connections in the field early on (request virtual coffee chats, etc.).
I hope this helps you find more information about your career of choice!

Hi Breana. Since you are interested in sonography, there are several ways to find professionals in that field.
You may ask your family members who work in healthcare if they know any sonographers or people who work in imaging departments. Even if they do not know one directly, they may be able to introduce you to someone.
You can also use professional networking platforms such as LinkedIn. Search for sonographers, ultrasound technicians, or medical imaging professionals and send polite messages asking if they would be willing to share their experiences.
Besides, you can contact local hospitals, clinics, or imaging centers and ask whether they offer job shadowing, career talks, or volunteer opportunities. Seeing the work firsthand can help you understand the profession better.
