Mariam’s Answer

I think top tier law schools look not only at the number of extracurricular activities you participate in, but also the length of time you were involved and the role that you played. It is always more impressive if you can demonstrate a genuine and long-term involvement with one activity that is meaningful to you, rather than trying to have multiple short stints. It would also be helpful if these can involve organizations that focus on providing legal services to the community or advocacy groups, because that way you can also get exposure to lawyers in action and get some informal legal training.

I would suggest volunteering work at the local communities. Also, are there any debating clubs you could be involved in?

Tasha’s Answer

Hey Rachel! Love that you are interested in law school. In addition to good LSAT and GPA scores, you will need community volunteer work. The more in depth involvement in the community work, the better. Doing multiple community projects is good but having a more involved role in one or two community projects look better. Look for large non profit organizations.
