For a student who would like to become a lawyer, what are the good majors for preparing for the LSAT?
I'm a high school student who wants to become a lawyer. I know that the LSAT requires a lot of critical thinking/analysis skills, and I know that there's a lot of different majors which you can take in order to do well, not just Political Science. That leaves me with a question; what are other strong majors in order to build the skills that are necessary to do well on the LSAT, and if someone is a lawyer now who didn't take a law/pre-law focused major, which one did you take?

Do law schools prefer you to major in something law related?
I have read that law schools prefer students to have a degree in something that isn’t law related but I want to confirm the accuracy of this. I have chosen to pursue a degree in Computer and Information Sciences. I am interested in learning about this and think I will be able to maintain my high gpa. I originally wanted to go to school for law a little over 17 years ago but I got pregnant and had my first son when I was 17. At that age the amount of time it would take to become a lawyer seemed so long that I thought i couldn’t possibly stay on that path and provide for my son. Now that him and his brother are older I am ready to go back to school and have came to the realization that 7 years goes by so fast that if I blink I miss too much of it. I really just want to make the best informed decision to help my chances of getting into law school when that time comes

I don't care too much about impressing schools or beefing up my resume it is more for personal interest and getting a taste of the field in general.

Does the specific school you attend really affect how successful of a lawyer I could be ?
I feel I have heard before that for law-school one of the most important things is which school you attend, like Harvard or Yale for example. I am not sure I would ever have the necessary requirements in order to attend the top schools, and I worry about the pricing as well. I have a local law-school I could attend for much cheaper, but I am worried it will hinder my success when trying to get a job in the future. Does the specific school matter as much as people say?

What College Would Be Best For Me?
I was wondering what college might be best for me. I am a very hard worker and believe that I would be capable of getting into a tough to get into school. I am very interested in going to a school in Chicago and I would really love to go to the University of Chicago. The only problem is that I don't know if the classes that are in the area of Law enforcement and Phycology are the best that I can receive. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations or ideas on what college might cover areas that have to deal with law and criminal justice the best. My ideal school as I said before would be somewhere in Chicago with a good cross country or track team, and have a low-ish acceptance rate.

Which Career Path, Major, & Industry Should I Go Into?
Hello! I’m a high school student preparing to apply to college very soon. I’ve spent the past four years fully immersed in business and marketing—I’ve worked as a marketing intern, served as a state officer for Business Professionals of America, and received multiple awards in the field. I would also say I have a talent for it as I am very creative and business minded. However, recently I’ve experienced a shift. I’ve been deeply drawn to advocacy—especially in supporting underserved communities, advancing youth education globally, and championing women’s rights and access to resources. It feels like this is what I’m truly meant to do, and I want to take that passion to a professional level. I’ve started looking into careers in law, policy, and even advocacy-focused marketing, but I’m still uncertain about the right direction to pursue in college. As someone who’s navigating this transition, I’d be so grateful for any advice you could offer—whether on combining these interests or exploring pathways that align with my purpose.
