Teresa’s Answer

It sounds like you might benefit from more exposure to multiple industries, to see which area you could specialize in.  Are your skills in math and science?  or language ?  political science?    When you say your hobby is "working", it would help to be more specific.   Working as what?  In landscaping and outdoors?  Or in an office and indoors?   Read a book like "What Color is My Parachute" to narrow down how your interests and abilities could map to a good job for you.

Teresa recommends the following next steps:

Read "What Color is My Parachute" and fill out the questionnaires.

Kim’s Answer

Hi Makayla,

Teresa has given you some excellent advice. Gaining deeper insight into your strengths as you select a career will help you find a better fit overall. There is another assessment that you may want to consider. It is called StrengthsFinder. The resulting report will provide you with insight into your natural strengths and potential educational/career opportunities. Together with Teresa's suggestion this may give you some solid direction in your career selection. Best of luck.

Kim recommends the following next steps:

Research the StrengthsFinder process to determine if it is a good fit for you.
Take the assessment and review the resulting report to understand your true strengths and potential opportunities.
Retain the report for reference during your career progression.
