Music will never die, the artists have a fiercer field to roam in. Culture will always demand entertainment, it' the artist that must capture th essenc e of this culture and reflect it in order to gain and earn popularity. The world is getting bigger with technology and denser with people. EXPOSURE, is the air that allows the artist that to breathe, otherwise he dies, and there is no future for him. Music will always live on.

Downloading music is THE biggest and best form of advertisement for an artist. Sadly, it is at a cost since pirating or downloading free music is so omnipresent, most consumers still don't understand how detrimental this is to an artist's bottom line. Even a rock star's bottom line (they may have gotten the winning lottery ticket so why can't they continue to get their fare share?). Whether a small independent artist struggling to get attention or the Taylor Swifts of the business, everyone deserves to be paid for their art! That said, we can't fight the battle overnight so if you like something you got for free, support them in some way and go buy a t-shirt or consider the whole album on iTunes or Amazon or whatever store you can purchase. Go see a show when they're in town and buy their cool stuff! If you simply can't afford even a buck to buy a song and you love them, then just passing on the word to all your friends and family will go a long way!

The future is good with all the downloadable music, although old-school, I still prefer to hold something tangible in my hands and read the credits, lyrics and liner notes! The artist just needs the consumer's support more than ever since many of them don't have a label behind them. So every time you see someone jammin' to a cool tune on their ipod, just know that there is a TON of work behind that song- creating, recording, marketing, etc to get it to you. So a little love and support to the artist goes a long way!

Hope that helps!

A lot of people are now turning back to Vinyl. I think vinyls are still a great format for listening to music. To a certain extent I think this is a market that will grow again a little. Otherwise, artists will need rely more on performance than recording in order to make a good living.
