The most important part about becoming an over the road truck driver is to go to truck driving school and obtain your CDL. There are companies that are willing to hire new graduates, and there are also companies that have tuition reimbursement programs.

Be sure to check into the contracts if you go through a trucking company to obtain your CDL. Review the fine print carefully to see exactly how many hours you'll owe to them as a driver once you obtain your CDL.
