Throughout my career, I've collaborated with many graphic designers. The field is diverse, and your role as a graphic designer can vary depending on your skills, interests, and what pays well. Here are some tasks that designers I know handle daily:
- Design icons for buttons, menus, and navigation.
- Plan the layout and user experience of web pages.
- Develop wireframes and mock-ups to present software designs to stakeholders.
- Create graphics for social media platforms.
- Develop style guides to ensure consistency in team designs and branding.
- Prepare visual technical specifications to aid developers in coding.
- Transform data into easy-to-understand visuals.
- Work with clients to define the visual identity of their products or brands.

Graphic Design is such a large role. I freelance and do graphic design in my spare time but my specific niche so far has been graphics for social media. Menu's for some local restaurants, etc. I know a few graphic designers and they all have their own niche, depends on what specifically interests you. That is what you want to focus on!
