I would take an hour or so to sit down and think about your long term goals and values. What do you want to get from your time in the military? How long do you plan to stay? Are you going to go to school first and then join as an officer or are you going to join the military directly from high school? Remember - your goals can and will change so don't overthink this.
Once you have an idea of why you are joining and what you want to get out of your military time, I can offer some opinions/observations. Full disclosure on how my opinions might be slanted - I was in the Army National Guard for two years but when I went active duty for a tour I switched to the Air Force .

Service to your country on the front line - I would think Army or Marines.
Test yourself physically and mentally to be the best of the best - I think of Army Ranges and Navy Seals
Career man enlisted - I think Air Force (see qualifiers above) is favorable to a family life for enlisted because the jobs are in support of the planes. You are more likely to have a job where you can go home every night to your family.
Technical Career - I think of Air Force and Navy

If you have a job skill you want to acquire - pick the job skill first and then check which branches have the most openings.

Plan on service and then college - look to see who has the best bonuses for joining. When I joined a long long time ago, the bonuses were different for each program.

Want to continue part-time in the Guard or Reserves after you get out, check to see which branch has local units if you want to return to the same area.

Good luck!

If you are going for military police any of the branches will teach you how to be military police provided you can achieve the required scores for that job. This is really one of those jobs that you have to look at the entire branch of the military because you will be dealing with them all. As for which one is the best that is a personal choice. I hate to say it like this but they are taught pretty much the same stuff. Like a cook, all the branches have cooks, and they are all taught about the same level of culinary arts so if you want to be a cook you might want to learn a bit about who you are cooking for.

I am a little biased as I grew up Navy and I joined the Air Force. I would have to say those are the best two branches to join for a career Military Police. You have to also ask yourself is this a 20 year commitment? Like the previous post this position is also available in the Reserves and Guard. I worked in a unit in the Reserves where we were able to help get our reservists into local PD programs. While others were Police officers in the civilian world as well as in the Air Force Reserves.

So bottom line you have to ask yourself what branch of service is your calling. Mine was the Air Force and having to explain to a Naval Officer why was a tough conversation. I completed 5 yrs Active Duty and 20 yrs Reserve. I worked in a Security Forces Unit and they were of of the best folks to work with.

Good LUCK!

Picking the right military branch is crucial. Lots of people find their way in the Air Force, which can sometimes be a smoother road to success compared to tougher branches like the Marine Corps. But remember, each military role has its own distinct culture and attracts different kinds of people. So, it's all about what you personally want and what you hope to achieve in your military journey. Your success depends on you and the choices you make.
