Angela D.’s Answer

This is a thoughtful question, Anjali! Jason provided some great advice that I'd like to add to. I'm not familiar with the educational system in Nepal, but I can share some ideas that may be helpful. You may want to consider a two-tier, multiple year plan. Are you able to finance your future educational goals through an apprenticeship or employment close to or in the field that you are interested in? Can you work part-time and go to school part-time? Are scholarships, financial aid, or other financing available? What about online coursetaking? Moving beyond paying for education, settling on a career interest or goal is key so as to focus your energy, time, and money in the most efficient way possible. I do have to be honest with you that your interests can change with experience and education. I moved from a business focus to teaching, which i absolutely love. Success can have many faces. Wishing you the best in your endeavors, Dr. B
Thank you comment icon Thank you for your concern Angela. And yeah I can do part time job along with my college, in-fact I am doing 1 now but it cannot cover all my expenses for college I won’t be able to pay my rent and bills too. Therefore it’s been tough. I am not being able to find a way out of it. Anjali

Jason’s Answer

There will always be options in life. Given that you are already out of school, thanks yourself, what is my passion? When you have an answer to that, move on to the second step, what would I want to do with my passion. Once you have that end goal set, formulate a plan and follow through with your plan.
Thank you comment icon Thank you for your answer i found it helpful but I am not being able to find the goal and certainly not the path to reach out there. I want to do a lot of things, don’t really know which path to choose and where to go. And I think I cannot take them all together too. Anjali

Ashish’s Answer

Hey Anjali, you thinking of joining back college and studying is half the battle won. You have the determination to continue your education which is a wonderful thing to have.

Believe me I can completely relate to your situation.
First try to see if you can get education loans at your place to complete your education. If that is not an option for you then let us proceed further.

I am not sure you had to leave your college at what stage and in which field you were studying.

My suggestion would be to first try to get a job part time/full time based on your current qualification.
This will give you financial stability and ability to sponsor your further education. Try to save as much as possible while working.

Then identify the courses/degrees that you want to continue your education in and check which all colleges/universities offer these courses maybe part time. Check thoroughly before enrolling the validity of the certificates/courses offered by the college/university or else you will end up spending 3-4 years studying just to know that the college certificate is not valid while applying for jobs(for example government jobs)

Once you have zeroed in the course and the university/college, keep your focus on completing the course.
I can tell you it will not be easy to complete it and requires lot of commitment and dedication. You will have hardships in your current job and you will not be able to find time and all that, but keep your focus.
Plan for your exams and start preparing for it one month in advance of every semester. Promise yourself that you will start giving one or two hours a day a month before the exam come what may.
You will have to do it only first one or two times and then you will get into a routine.

Best of luck for your future and keep studying.

Hi Anjali,
Both Jason and Angela gave great advice. You stated that you had to leave school due to some issues. I think your first step to finding a career is to resolve those issues that may lead you to leave school again or to at least come up with a workable plan to be able to balance those issues while pursuing a career. Any good career is going to come with time and diligence.
