Hi Jennifer- I remember the feeling of starting out in college and thinking that it would just be harder than high school- but it was very different for me. The thing that was the biggest difference to me was that the class was going on at a pace that the instructor wanted and it was not going to slow down for me. The information was just placed out there and I had to figure out how to understand it/ study for it/ etc. If I didn't show up and try, then no one was going to look for me- I had to be self motivated to figure it out. I would go to the library to study because I was living at home with siblings and it was too loud for me to concentrate. I met some people in classes that I thought were hard and we started a study group- I learned to be more independent in my study and that really helped me the most. I wish you the best of luck in your first year of college- Just the fact that you are wondering about the difference makes me think you will be successful! Good luck!
