Hi Kaneez,

Now that you are starting your final year in secondary schooling life, you need to give your best.
10th class is also a milestone in your student life as you carry the grades, which help you in your junior college level.

Studies shouldn't be taken as a burden, but take it as an opportunity to learn and make your foundations stronger in all the subjects that you have. Pay attention to the lessons and lectures. Regularly spend few hours to revise whatever you have learnt in during the day.
This will not only make the studies easier but also keep you less stressed or burdened.

Make a timetable. Follow it religiously. And I am sure you shall see the benefits and enjoy the studies through the year.

All the best for you 10th class and board exams. !

First thing, be clear with your thoughts and ideas. Know that if it is exactly the thing you want.

Now, if the answer is yes, taking or not taking a coaching completely depends on the personal level of the candidate. There are so many student who cracked JEE without coaching. And there are many who needed coaching to brush up their skills or for better understanding of the subject matters or to gain the extra required knowledge that was not being imparted in their schools.

So check your level first that you actually require a coaching or not. Also consider that it requires utmost dedication to manage both school and coaching at the same time. Will you be able to do that?

Some general tips I can give here which maybe useful in both the cases:

Manage the time table. You have ample of time now. By the time I am answering, Almost 2 years. (My apologies for so late reply.) It is a lot of time.
Complete the NCERT text book without fail. That will be your foundation. Solve all the exercises.
Take the help of standard reference books for advanced study of the topic alongside the NCERT studies. That way you can achieve indepth understanding of the topic.
Spare some time in the weekends and solve the the previous years questions of various competitive exams from the topics you have studied by then.
Take mock test. That will keep telling you where you stand and how much improvement you need in the different topics.
Never be hesitant to ask questions. If you have a doubt, get it solved. Ask teachers. If they are not able to help, ask other students and teachers. They may not necessarily be from the place where you are studying. You motto is to learn. And you should learn from where ever you get the opportunity.
Set a time limit. Try to complete the topics and syllabus by then. Don't let it extend. Slowly you will catch the rythm and will be able to strictly stick to your schedule.
Do maintain a habit of revising. 24 months is a long time, you may face problem if you don't revise.
If you are able to do all the above things, rest you will be smart enough to understand and gather, what else you need to become successful.

Pradeep’s Answer

Maintain separate notebooks for each subject: Jot down important notes and formulae that you come across during your studies. This will help before the exams as you can just grab the subject notebook and revise the portions you want.

•Highlight important points: Highlight important points and formulae on textbooks and reference books to locate them easily. Revise the points as and when you get time.

•Plan your studies: Chalk out a time table for board exam preparation and allocate ample time for each subject. Choose the time that you think is best for study. It can be early in the morning or late at night. Do not allow distractions to mar your studies. Select a study space that you feel is most suitable and convenient.

•Know your strengths and weaknesses: Hone your strengths but do not ignore your weaknesses. Concentrate more to improve on them. Take guidance from your teachers.

•Revise Well: Do not study anything new or from a new book right before exams, as you may get confused. Revise what you have studied and glance at important notes and formulae. Make note of important formulae and keep them handy so that you can take a look at them as an when you want. Make a weekly revision plan once you have completed the entire syllabus.

•Keep fit: Eat healthy and take ample rest.

Best of luck
