Hello Jayleen.
The answer to your question will depend on what type of school you attend. For example, if you attend a public university you can often complete your bachelor degree in less than 4 years because you can take courses year-round and that will allow you to complete the required credits of the degree faster. To do so you have to be in a Major that does not require specific start times--usually winter and fall. what this means is that some majors require learning to be done in a specific order, such as medical school, and the order may only be offered in the Fal and Winter standard time frames, and in that case, you'd need to take the educational requirements over the full four years.
So, my final answer is, the ability to graduate with a BS or BA degree in under four years is possible, depending on your major. Search what majors are offered at the specific schools you are interested in and find out what the times frames to graduate are. Universities tend to run on semesters or terms. There are 3 semesters; fall, winter, summer, or 4 terms: fall, winter, spring, summer per year, so there are usually options to get your courses completed in a shorter time frame if the program permits. But I will warn you. Since I did it myself, I can tell you that going year-round, full-time credit hours, with no time off during the year is a big challenge. Good luck.

Hi Jayleen,
This is a great questions! Typically, most people obtain their bachelor's degree in 4 years. However, there are cases in which this may be quicker or longer. If you take AP and/or IB classes in high school, you can obtain college credit which will reduce the amount of classes you take in college. You can also take summer classes in college to reduce the amount of years it takes for you to obtain your degree. I have seen student graduate with a bachelor's degree in 3 years at the earliest. I have also seen students take around 5+ years to obtain a bachelor's degree due to switching of majors or failing classes. Everyone's circumstances are different but most student graduate within 4 years. Hope this helps!

At this point you probably already have the answer with you. I would like to share a possible response to your question and that it is, it depends.
Should you decide to take a GAP year that would mean you have extended the time of you going to graduate but it would save you a lot of time to know what you really want to do when you enter college and secondly it may even make you decide that college is not where you wish to pursue you way forward.
Another aspect is doing an internship midstream of your college years, this is common and most students do take this one with the hope it will build their network and more importantly get them a foot in to being employed. The issue is do they extend their internship period or take it during the vacation or during semester time? This could delay your time in college.
Finally, it also depends on the number of subjects you are taking for each semester or whether you are pursuing your college as a part-timer. All this can also extend the time you take at college.
I hope this helps you form a great decision. Take care.
