Hi Alishia! I'm happy to hear you love singing and want to help others!
The answer varies depending on what kind of vocal instructor you want to be. If you would like to be a choral director at a school for kids 1st-12th grade, you can get your undergraduate in music education. However, I never recommend this degree. Students in music education programs are usually held at a lower standard and don't have the same opportunities as music and music performance majors. I highly recommend you go into performance first, because your students deserve an instructor who is knowledgeable in all aspects of the field. You also still learn how to teach by going to your voice lessons and participating in ensembles.
Some other teaching options are to build your own private studio for students of all ages, in which case a bachelor's in music would be the minimum. If you'd like to teach at the college level, you'll need a minimum of a master's, though a lot of professors receive their doctorate.
I hope this helps, being a music major and teacher is more difficult than most people realize, but it's incredibly rewarding.
Best of luck!
