Hi Skyler! Although I am not a professional actor (and hopefully a professional actor may also answer you) I too was heavily involved in theater while in High School and it was a wonderful experience! Many of my theater friends from school have continued to pursue acting as their passion and hobby while some have made it on Broadway (actually staring in one of the latest hits that was just made into a movie) as well as another becoming an executive at one of the big US television networks. Personally it also gave me unique skills in the business world for public speaking, presenting and socializing. As you may hear, acting and getting a "big break" in the business can be challenging and a lot of long, hard work. Many times having the right connections, network and even just being at the right place at the right time but key is to remain active in community theater, get your name out there (these days it's fairly easy with social media) and connect with those actors that have made it to get their story, advice and mentorship if possible. Whether you make it big some day or just stay active in theater as a passion or hobby, it provides great skills to have no matter what you end up doing as a career and in life! Best of luck to you and I'll be on the lookout to see if someday there's a big star named Skyler :-)

Happy Holidays Skyler,

It is wonderful that you want to be an actor and there are so many ways to get started. Below are some key things you would work with your parents on getting so you can become an actor.

1. Get really good headshots (a few different ones)
2. Find an agent
3. Submit your headshots and your experience even if it is just classes via email or through the mail to every agency your can find even if they are out of state (have your parents help you with this).
4. Continue taking classes and begin auditioning for different things in your local community
5. begin acting in local plays or opportunities in your area.
6. Have fun this the job that you want so always make sure to have fun and enjoy it.

Good Luck .
