Hi Rachel,

Depending the preschool you are looking to apply to, a teaching degree may or may not be required. I would suggest researching some local preschools to see what their requirements are and inquiring as to how you can get started there. They may have teacher's assistant positions that you would be eligible to do and that would be a great entry to this field and allow you to learn. I also seek to couple your work experience with your education and seek out the type of education degree you would like to obtain. Hope this helps and good luck to you!

Depending on the preschool you may not need anything other than a highschool diploma! I was a preschool teacher while I was in my undergrad program and I didn’t need anything special. I took a couple online courses so I could be what they called “lead certified” it basically just meant that I could be a lead teacher in the classroom. The preschool I worked at also had professional development type days where they would teach us skills we could take back into our classroom! Hope this helps!

Hi! it will depend on which location you are applying for, some of them take a teacher degree and a high school diploma. But you will need to look into it if that is what you wanna do. If you want to work with kids of all ages and can't just pick an age you can be a substitute teacher and be a sub for that school district so you can work with all of the age groups. That it depently a good job to get into and i think you will enjoy it. Hope this helps!
