Where can I get a virtual summer internship as a high school student?

I want to be a doctor and I want to build up my resume. I've been searching all over the Internet for an internship related to becoming a doctor or to biology or science or STEM and I haven't found any. There are no internships near me. I would like a virtual internship seeing as there is a pandemic going on and I cannot travel. I cannot find an internship for high school students related to the field of medicine or healthcare. Does anyone know where I can find one?

This is a different time.
May I suggest you see if there are volunteer positions assisting with information and scheduling appointments for vaccinations Orr information about the pandemic regulations etc.
You would be exposed to public health, medical staff and assisting your community. A great addition to your resume.

Hey, Mia!

I would suggest taking a look online at some job postings, even Indeed.com would be a good tool to find virtual internships available for the summer! Networking or even asking teachers if they know of any resources for you to help find an internship is another idea as well. It doesn't hurt to ask!

I would suggest contacting local businesses in your area to inquire if they have internship opportunities as well. I would take a look around at some different internship options online on job searching websites such as MonsterJobs.com or Indeed.com like I mentioned above as well and taking a look at the job descriptions and requirements.

Medtronic does have a WISE Program (Women in Science and Engineering) dedicated to exposing recent high-school graduates to the STEM field. Good luck!

My advice: don't go online, you won't find quality posts about internship positions for high school students, let alone in Mindanao.

I'd rather have you ask the folks in your sphere of influence. Ask your parents, your titos, your titas. Who is your family doctor, what clinic (or hospital) or dentist do you go to? You must have at least one family friend who happens to be an MD, and start there! Or maybe one of your titas is even a doctor! Why not ask to spend a few hours in a week to assist her in her clinic?

I know you're looking for something virtual, but if the field you wish to be in is Medicine, then you'll have to start accepting as early as now that there's no substitute (yet) for face-to-face diagnosis and treatment.
