Is there are companies that can allow you to do one of their minor project, if their company on that day, does not meet standard for their major project?
I am wondering if there is some companies if there an emergency project, if there is too much workers attending for their main project, or if there is too less workers for for the main project to sustain. #career

Hey Michael J!
It really depends on what company and the profession. A bigger company would have their employees focused on specific roles since they have so many people. So if they have 10 projects and 20 people, they might assign 2 people per project, for instance . A smaller one however, would involve everybody working on more projects since they don't have as much personnel or, they'll take on less projects and focus on giving the ones they do more attention. This isn't a rule by any means - companies are going to strategize their direction differently. It would help if you outlined what career path you're focusing on.
Thanks!

Hi Michael,
Exactly as Amit said. It really depends on your company, the size, the domain ...
Many companies hire interns for small projects that the full time employees have no time to invest on because they are involved in bigger, longer and more difficult projects. There are also companies hiring contractor when they need a boost on projects that can be picked up quickly or on projects that are outside the domain of expertise of their employees.

Like other mentioned, it depends on the company and their work culture. Often large scale companies have dedicated teams for projects, and you don't switch between projects that often unless if you change your team. Small companies and startups, on the other hand, have limited funding and resources. They tend to use employees for multiple projects based on the need, and can switch them between projects easily as per the need of the hour.
