What careers/jobs are there in the future if you go to a business school?

I'm a sophomore in high school and I was thinking about different career paths. I was wondering, if a person goes to a business school, what jobs would they have in the future? Thanks! #business #career #college-major #jobs #career-choice #career-path #future-careers

Thank you comment icon Hi Ms. LeNoir. I'm not sure yet but maybe management or business development. What's the difference between the two and what are other types of jobs that are available? Thanks! Luka
Thank you comment icon Hi, Luka. I am not too familiar with the difference. It may depend on the school. The best resource is to read the description of the courses on the college website. I wish you the best! Hope LeNoir

Hi,

Great question! If you are talking about a BS in Business, you could find yourself focusing in on any aspect of business from Marketing or Sales to Management, Purchasing, Human Resources. Many people use it as background to open their own business. It's a very flexible degree -- one where what you learn can be used in many ways.

I hope that helps!

Good luck!

Thank you comment icon Hi Ms. Clapp. Thank you for your answer. I now understand how vast the Business career can be. Thanks again! Luka

Hey Luka, Management can mean a lot of things. You can manage people, or projects or initiatives. Typically management is taking ownership over something that is already in place, or a defined need. Business Development typically relates to generating new clients, or sales, or creating something new within the business. A good way to learn more is to look at the careers page of companies you are interested in, and read through the job descriptions for various roles. You should also join professional and social groups at school, to expand your network and learn from your peers.
