Hi Cesar,

I'm not an expert on this field, but I am familiar with the field of Civil Engineering. This is a discipline where you learn about the physical and chemical composition of materials, structural design, and construction processes and practices, amongst a lot more things. Civil engineers often are in charge of large infrastructure projects and are responsible for the safe and successful construction of buildings, roads, bridges, and other structures.

Civil Engineering is a 4 year college degree and may require you to take the Professional Engineering exam, which is a licensing exam which would allow you to be able to work in projects like I mentioned. This certification includes a period of time shadowing an already certified professional engineer. The reason they require this certification is because in civil engineering, most your projects will always have direct effect on people's lives. Think of the consequences of a bridge or road being poorly constructed, therefore it is important that the engineers working in these projects demonstrate a minimum level of capability.

I believe Civil Engineering could be a good fit for you if you are interested in construction into a deeper level. Hope this helps with your question. Best of luck!
