How long does it take to get a book published?

There is no easy answer to this question, Alyssa. One book might take a year to produce while another is designed and printed in three weeks. It is sensible to allow at least three months for the process – six months is even better. And before all that, you need to write the book!

For me, my book was never accepted so I ended up self publishing and having my extended family and friends read the book and they have quoted from it. That, for me was satisfying in a way I did not previously expect after feeling rejected by publishers.
