Tracy’s Answer

I wonder if this question has a little bit to do with how our definition of success in lawyering, and I'd like to challenge. Sometimes, it might not be worth it to go all the way to trial (where a "winner" or "loser" is decided). Even if the parties decide that they want to do that at a beginning of the case, in the U.S. there are often many stages you go through before you actually get to "trial." Two of these options are settlement negotiations and mediation. Here, you might be able to get a good settlement for your client and avoid the expenses and inconvenience of trial (for example, your client has to travel to trial, wait around until it is their turn to testify, and might be subject to bad press coverage depending on the case). I don't think gender matters for winning cases--I think the best value for a legal professional is to think analytically, observe intuitively, and work mindfully to achieve what is best for their client.

Evangeline’s Answer

Hello,

Winning a case doesn't rely on gender. Example Marcia Clark chief prosecutor for the OJ Case Simpson lost the case against him.

It's all about the evidence and arguing the case. Bottom line, the final decision still relies on the jury.

Thanks!
