For some people, the fact that you will have less free time is a challenge assuming this is their first ever job. It can be difficult moving from having a lot of available time to only a select few hours. I know when I got my first full time job it felt extremely uncomfortable the fact that I couldn't do most of the things I was able to do before due to less time.

You do may have to work required overtime if a project or part of your work isn't completed. That can be very stressful and can crush people under the pressure.

Learning how to deal with other coworkers that will argue to you about your work or if they don't do their share. When this happens, it can lead to high tensions within your team, since you want to get along with them since you are most likely to be working on the same project. At the same time you don't want to feel pressured to do everything yourself.

Great question! Team dynamics is a lifelong topic because change is a constant - each time there is a change in team membership, team dynamics is starts over. Understanding team dynamics (storming, forming, norming, performing) is important. Also, having some sort of model that describes human behavior in a workplace helps with understanding how team members relate with each other. Myers-Briggs, StrengthsFinder 2.0, Learn to Fascinate are some examples. When you and the others on the team gain awareness of their tendencies and how they are different compared to others, we can have empathy, which is critical for any working relationship. Unconscious Bias, Emotional Intelligence, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, cultural awareness, customer-centricity are also important in especially in global teams.

Mark’s Answer

Jerin,
I think what I am sensing is anxiety over the uncertainty of what is a big life change from student to working full time. It is completely understandable. Having gone through it many years ago and worked in probably a dozen companies (so far), the best I can offer is don't get overwhelmed by the details. Nobody expects anyone to ever have all the answers. Go into it with an open mind and can-do attitude. You can and will figure it out, but it will take time, just like it took me and everyone else who has made the transition. I personally relish change and adapting to new environments and with some practice and spirit of embracing the unknown, you can too. You've got this!

You will need to watch grammar and spelling! You asked about "Computer System" not System(S) - that is incorrect. It is plural not singular. You asked - what challenge will faced? Again, incorrect! It should be, "What challenges will BE faced. So a couple errors there. Why am I picking on this? Because Computer code is ALL ABOUT correct syntax and errors will lead to BUGS. So start now and brush up on this. That is your first challenge right now - English grammar and spelling. THEN and only then is it about learning computer systemS, people skillS, technical skillS, problem solving, figuring out what area of computer systemS you want to be involved in (Graphics, Data Science, Hardware, ML, AI, Quantum, Web, Gaming, etc.) and all the rest. Investigate different areas of the field and focus on what you find interesting. Good luck!
