Hi there!
Some jobs you may consider in your situation can be working at a animal shelter. Usually there are paid positions available in some shelters.
Another avenue may be working at a a veterinarians office. I had a really good friend that worked with the animals as an assistant ( not a vet tech). She gained a lot of experience. You can also consider working as a receptionist for a veterinarians office, although it’s not hands on - it’s still experience.

If you live in a metropolitan or suburban area, you might also consider checking to see if a local zoo or animal sanctuary would have open positions. If you live in a more rural setting, there may be farmers/ranchers who would be open to having help with the livestock.
While not paid, also consider asking these entities if they would be willing to allow you to observe their work with the animals. Observation can provide you with significant insight which will help shape your understanding of what it looks like to work with and care for these types of animals.
