Think about joining a trade school or vocational college to gain knowledge and potentially some hands-on experience. You might also want to consider joining an apprenticeship, which combines on-the-job training with classroom learning. Many apprenticeships let you earn college credits that count towards an associate or bachelor’s degree. This way, you gain valuable work experience and college credits at the same time, thereby helping to lower the overall cost of getting a college degree. Plus, most apprenticeships in the U.S. pay you while you learn, so you can earn some money as you build your career.
