Is a Data Science BSc worth it?

I've gotten into a Data Science Bachelors program at the University of Bristol, and I was wondering if it is enough if I want to get into data science or machine learning roles in the future. Would I be disadvantaged as compared to stats/maths or computer science grads.

Hello Sarah!

Yes, you can enter machine learning with a Data Science degree! You'll definitely have options for data science roles as well.
Your major will provide coursework in statistics, programming, data modeling and visualization, and data analysis tools. So, you'll have a strong foundation for Machine Learning!

One caveat to this is most Machine Learning positions require a masters degree.

A bachelors in data science is enough for data science jobs! However - If you want to enter Machine Learning specifically, you'll need to research master's degree programs.

All the tech companies continue to seek Data Science technologies.
1) Discover Artificial Intelligence and Data Science - they're the future!
2) Master interpreting Python or Java code in business language. Think of ordering online through an app (like McDonalds, Chipotle, or Taco Bell) - that's Java/Python code! Develop the skill to comprehend business requirements and translate them into programming logic.
3) Become adept at presenting ideas in a straightforward way. Watch Apple product announcement videos for inspiration. Observe how skillfully Steve Jobs communicated his ideas!
