Request for Career Advice: Data Analyst vs. Financial Researcher Path?

I completed my undergraduate studies in Economics at an ordinary university. Through hard work, I was admitted to a prestigious university for my master’s degree, which is an excellent institution. However, after enrolling, I realized that most of my classmates had studied at top universities for their bachelor’s degrees, so my background feels somewhat less competitive in comparison. Currently, I am pursuing a master’s degree in Applied Statistics, and I will be entering the job market next year. At this stage, I feel rather uncertain about my career path—whether I should become a data analyst or a financial researcher. I am not sure if my current abilities are strong enough, nor do I know what specific skills I should focus on developing to make myself more qualified for these roles. Another concern is that I have no work experience so far. When I apply for internships related to these positions, I am often rejected due to my lack of prior experience. This situation makes me feel even more anxious about my future career development.

Specialize in Feature Monetization Analytics for SaaS, or Start with General Data Analytics?

Hi everyone, I’m just starting out in data analytics and I really like the idea of working on SaaS products, especially in areas like feature usage and how those features help make money. I’m not sure what’s a smarter move for landing my first job: Should I do a general data analytics course, try to get any analytics job I can find (even if it’s not about SaaS or product features), and just get some experience? Or should I pick a specific path, like really focusing on SaaS, learning all about feature and monetization analytics, and then only apply to jobs in that niche? What’s worked for you or people you know? Is it better to get broad experience first, or does specializing early help you get interviews in your target area faster? I would love to hear any advice.. thanks a lot!

Is an internship in an unrelated domain always better than no internship at all?

I am a freshman student pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Data Science. I'm currently working on developing my programming skills via various MOOCs and also doing personal projects so I can start applying to good internships related to my field of data science and machine learning in a few months. Our college placement cell is always offering "internships" to students, they are mostly in the categories of either sales related (where we have to call people and inform them about a particular product generating leads) or academic counsellor positions in various colleges in our vicinity. I am very introverted and these kinds of roles do not generally suit me and mostly just stress me out. So coming to my question, while I develop my skills for a proper data science related internship, are these other internships even valuable to pursue, or are they probably just a waste of my time which I could divert elsewhere? (like upskilling in data science areas, or maybe just relaxing to avoid potential burnout)

Is it beneficial to take online courses on Coursera or Udemy to learn data skills if I want to go into Data Science/Anaytics If so, what should I start with?

I'm in Grade 10, I have some coding experience with Python, and I want to be able to build my skill set so that I have time to improve later during high school. I also want to be able to use those skills to help others (volunteering). I've seen so many "roadmaps" for learning data skills, and they're all different, so I hope someone can clear this up for me. Thanks in advance!
