Is one C in chem for 3rd grading period and the rest Bs going to affect my chances of getting into a good college. I have all final grade As besides that.
Im a sophomore and took my SAT early got a 1250. Also Im in AP pysch and AP Art History and last year took AP world and got a 4. My gpa weighted is 4.8 and I'm in a varsity sport and I'm also getting my eagle scout award. Am I ok?
Should I drop AP Physics C as a junior 2nd semester?
I am a junior in my 2nd semester of high school. I took a course load of 5 APs and over the summer my mother was diagnosed with cancer. I’ve had a hard time managing my life and honestly am very mentally overwhelmed. I have taken AP Physics C and second semester I am on track for a D or F with only 4 tests remaining. I have not been able to manage all of my AP’s. I am worried if I drop the class colleges will look at me negatively and if I stay my grade will be very bad. My gpa currently is a 3.8 and last semester I got a C in the class because of the same reason. I would like to major in astronomy or aerospace engineering. Please provide your suggestions for my next steps. I would like to be able to apply to T20 colleges and my top college is Embry Riddle. Will I be able to get in if I get a bad grade or I drop based on my circumstances? Thank you!
Are Universities more considerate of your High School grades or College grades?
Back in middle school, I was that kid whose entire personality was basically just my 4.0 GPA. But when I hit high school, life decided to give me a surprise 'promotion' to Chief Sibling Officer for my two younger brothers. If you’ve ever tried to negotiate with a 2-year-old or a 5-year-old, you know they’re basically tiny, adorable dictators who couldn't care less about my chemistry study schedule. My transcript has shifted to 3 A’s and 4 B’s lately, mostly because my evenings are spent de-escalating juice-box crises and handling nap-time protests instead of perfecting my notes. I’m really trying to get my 4.0 mojo back, but I’m a little stressed. Do admissions officers actually see "not letting my brothers burn the house down" as a real responsibility, or do they only care about the numbers? And honestly, once I finally get to college, does my high school GPA follow me around like a ghost, or do I actually get a fresh start? P.S I promise I wasn't slacking; I was just busy being a professional mediator and activities coordinator. If you've ever tried to explain to a toddler why they can't eat the dog's food while simultaneously finishing a history essay, you’ll understand why I ended up with a few B’s. I essentially traded a perfect GPA for "Senior-Level Sibling Management" skills.

What can I do when whatever I do, I cannot make good enough grades in science?
Since my first semester of college, I've noticed that I am struggling with making good grades in my science based courses. Considering I am a science major, the toll that this has taken on me is grave. I have looked up and tried many study habits and methods and feel like nothing is working for me. It's frustrating putting so much effort into something that you want so bad, that nothing is working. It has gotten to the point where my advisor is asking me to consider another major. Knowing that being in medicine is truly my passion it is disheartening to hear. #Fall2025

"If our world values art, kindness, innovation, and nature’s beauty, why do we still judge students mostly by their grades What other qualities should matter just as much?"#Spring25
In a world full of natural beauty and endless human creativity, it doesn’t make sense to judge students just by grades. A test score doesn’t show someone’s imagination, kindness, or how hard they try when no one’s looking. Real success isn’t something you can measure with numbers. Like a tree or a sunset, every person grows in their own way, and that’s what should matter most.#Spring25

Is it possible to get into one of the more prestigious colleges even if I didn't have very good grades the first semester of my freshman year ?
I kinda started out my freshman year ok before my grades tanked due to me not turning homework in because I was sick quite often and missed days of school. Since I failed so horribly the first semester I plan to at least get higher than A-'s all throughout high school to hopefully make up for it. I should also note that getting an A isn't that difficult for me because I got Bs and Cs in the first semester without putting in much effort. But I've realized now that I should just get high school over with and put in the the full effort.
