How do I find scholarships right for me and having a high chance of getting them?

I a senior and I been trying to find scholarship but I feel like I am doing them wring because they are always just minimum chances of me getting it like sign up here and you will be entered for $1,000 worth of scholarship. this is just a small probability of me getting it since its national and plus I did local ones and there isn't much. I am interested in medical field but its so expensive and I need help. #needhlep #medicalfield

Betsy, I know exactly how you feel since I had similar issues since my high school grades were good, but not great to get national scholarships. However, I only got some grants from FAFSA through the university.

That change once I got into college since I did really well in my classes first semester and entrance math test, and thus be offered scholarships and other funding opportunities through my department, college and honors college. Choose a field of sciences where you may be considered a minority to increase your chances of getting scholarships/grants e.g. women in engineering/STEM is not common. Although it may seem unrelated to medical field, I've known a few fellow female classmates in chemical engineering, which is a challenging major, but they later ended up in medical school successfully. This is obviously based on my personal experience when I was a college student, but hopefully helpful.

For medical school, one thing to consider maybe is MD/PhD that will take longer to complete, but will reduce your tuition costs significantly and even provide a small stipend. This is what I've heard from friends and family in the medical field.
