The easiest way is to look up the school's website. Schools vary, so it's important to know who's doing what. Keep an excel sheet of where you're applying, and available scholarships (along with due dates and what they want from you!). Don't be afraid to find out phone numbers of dedicated scholarship services and call to speak to an actual person if you have questions (I have done this first hand and it's worked!).

Keep track of your achievements outside of classes (certificates, clubs, events, etc) so you know what to write about, and create a basic template for yourself so you're not rewriting the same essay 10+ times.

Outside of that, look it up! The internet is full of scholarships that are unrelated to a specific school. They range from serious to silly. You can start pretty early for this scholarships because some will roll over to when you're actually in college.

Molly’s Answer

Hi Ruby!

Ruby,

Great question! I partook in multiple scholarships in order to diminish my pay when going into college. I will say that that a tremendous beneficiary that helped me personally was looking into different clubs and organizations around where I lived. Most likely, these organizations would offer a scholarship that you would need to apply here. Various were indeed competitive, but with the right essay and information put into the many applications, they were a great help in me dwindling my bill within my college organization. For that very reason, I would recommend reaching out to various organizations around your town or city, and asking if scholarships are being released. It goes a long way, and you do not have to be apart of a sport organization either!

Thank you and I hope this helped!
