First of all, you should take some time to think what intrests you, it might sound hard at first but it is the best way! Medical field is broad, but I bet that you can find your niché pretty quickly. Try reading some articles, deep dive into what brought you the most joy when you were studying. I think the most important piece of advice - sometimes we make mistakes, and you might choose something that you will regret, but remember, even if you think you failed at first - dont worry, try to draw as much experience from it as possible!

Wish you all the best!

Katie’s Answer

I always say it seems so premature to figure out your life career while you are in high school. I know so many people (including myself) who went to school for one thing and have since chosen an entirely different career path. Without much work experience under your belt there are too many unknowns for you to really know what the right path is. Give yourself grace and room to explore different options. Start to volunteer with some local non-profits which will not only get you some practical experience but will feed your need to help and give back. There are so many ways you can help even if you are not part of the medical field as well. For instance, you could work for a company that has as larger mission and vision that is focused on helping others even if you are just starting out in a support capacity. If you have not already setup a LinkedIn profile, then do that and start following companies that you are interested in. You can also view different job opportunities that are out there and see what qualifications are required to give you a better idea of what career paths exist.

The easiest way to find out is through exposure! If you would love to go into the medical field, do your own research on what options do they have, and read them to see which one you will be interested in, and what you need to study in order to work in that field. Or ask someone who is in the medical field, or even better if you get a chance to volunteer for the hospital. The same thing goes for other fields, your own research + ask someone about their experience + experience it yourself through voluntary work/part time etc. And in life, there is no 100%, just make sure you will enjoy the job that you chose, and there's always a chance to change it! Hope you will figure it out soon :)

Lukas’s Answer

You're in 11th grade so you have time. Just figure out which subjects bring the most happiness to you in school, and then try to further your knowledge about those subjects. Good luck!
Thank you comment icon I agree with Lukas. Keep your options open, what you said sounds pretty broad, so don't feel pressured into choosing anything specific right now. Naturally some things will just feel more fun. Lucas Ho
