How do I find the perfect job for me?
I thought about being a firefighter ,real estate , or architecture

Almost everyone will tell you to follow what you are interested in, which is natural. But people almost never mention that you should also ask yourself what kind of lifestyle you want to live.
Remember that while your job is a large part of your life, beyond your 9-5 is a majority of your time, so what do you want to do with it? What kind of house do you want to live in? What do you need if you want to travel often or if your hobbies are expensive? Would you value working from home or being in the office, or being outside?
You may have a burning desire to do a particular job, but perhaps if you are not as set on a particular line of work, think about what type of job will facilitate the lifestyle that you want, and you will be surprised at what you find!
Remember that while your job is a large part of your life, beyond your 9-5 is a majority of your time, so what do you want to do with it? What kind of house do you want to live in? At a young age, my curiosity developed as soon as I was capable of grabbing objects with my own hands. This allowed me to be compelled to try any activity that interested me in the slightest! I have been a community diversity and engagement coordinator, a veterinary assistant and a ux designer. It is normal and okay to be interested in many different careers! In fact, having diverse interested can be a valuable asset. But to help find a career that is perfect for yourself, I recommend a couple of things:
1. Take a step back and look at the big picture: What do all of your job interest have in common? What are the pro and cons to each career path? It this career path suitable for your lifestyle and learning style?
2. Try it out: try looking into some volunteering opportunities, internships or part time jobs to experiment and test it out to see if a certain career path is right for you.
3. Seek guidance: network with people who are already in the field and ask questions (questions are free so ask away!) . You can also talk to your teachers, career counselors and mentors to seek any advice.

You can be a firefighter and still get a real estate license for part time income.. due to a firefighter 3 -12 hours shift tours.. But at any rate file for the fire exams and take them with the physical endurance part .. as I did in my twenties.. it is a great government career. Good luck!

Hi Xian! It can be hard to choose what path you want to go down! I would research what the day-to-day is like for each career you're interested in. See if you can visualize yourself in those positions and if you'd be happy. Also, never forget that it's okay to change careers! What you choose now does not need to be forever!
