If you’re looking for a powerful editor will a wide array of capabilities, I would recommend Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere Pro. There is a ton of support for it online, so someone will always have an answer to your question. This software is also powerful (there is a learning curve) and can grow with your abilities and desired goals with your projects. If you’re editing on mobile and want to get a taste of it, I’d suggest iMovie and Adobe Premiere Rush.

There are many great video editing software out there, and it depends on what goal and outcome you want to achieve for the video editing.
If you simply want to put some images and video clips together, iMovie (if you use Mac) should be sufficient.
If you want to edit the clips more extensively, add multiple tracks, and/or have multiple sequences/scenes, I'd recommend Adobe Premiere.
For more advanced effects and animations, Adobe After Effects is a great choice.
I've not used Apple's Final Cut Pro yet, but I've heard it's a good equivalent to Adobe's video editing software.
There are also some great apps on mobile phones, if you just want to put some clips together with lightweight editing and have easier access on the go. As an Android user, my personal favorite is an app called InShot. It has a good library of stickers, filters, and effects, that you can just easily add to your clips.
