I would say everyone feels the same. When I was younger in high school, I could hardly deal with few relationships with others who were not my type - even the one who was my type then, they had changed themself in a way that I could not recognise the same one - thus the one fully changed his or her identity. Somehow, the atmosphere itself change your perspective and your expectation due to sudden changes around you. High school is a blank space that you will find yourself in a place where you may feel in pain, or even suffer from anxiety and/or depression, but do not let your thoughts control you. The more you treat you better like you love yourself (it can be: you are worthy etc), the more you can find your self-confidence before your academic year begins. You will be better than used to be. Your family can rely on you for that situation, and that (if will happen) will a moment where you will at the college.
I hope this helps.
