Office administration work is also largely influenced by your role in the administrative field. For example, if you get hired as an administrative manager for an organization, you are typically tasked with supervising and a group of administrative assistants to ensure that they meet and can exceed the mission or expectations of the individuals (stakeholders) the administrative assistants' support. An administrative manager is also responsible for the welfare of the individuals who report to them. So that can include tracking their vacation and sick time and any trainings involving professional development opportunities. Office administration can also be used to describe the role of administrative support professionals, which includes performing a variety of administrative tasks such as drafting and editing documents with Microsoft office, a managing someone's calendar or emails, or ordering office supplies. The most valuable skill one can have if interested in office administration is the ability to organize and prioritize because office administrative typically involves making decisions on multiple tasks throughout a typical workday whether you are a in office administration in a managerial role or administrative support role.
