Hi Trusiah,
Good question. I feel like I got lucky.
I had a brother who became a mechanical engineer and that career sounded very interesting. I also had a brother-in-law who was an electrician and I worked for him and learned how to wire houses, etc.
So, when it came to deciding on my career, I thought I would combine the two. I chose to become an electrical engineer. It was a very good decision for me, and I've been working at IBM for the last 42 years.
My advice for you is: Think about what you like to do. Here's some questions: Do you like to work with your hands? Do you like to work indoors or outdoors? What kinds of classes in school do you like? Who do you know that has a great job? Who do you want to emulate in life? These questions can help you decide what you want to do.
There are career aptitude tests you can take online... This is one I found quickly: https://careerquiz.org/quiz?msclkid=e654c5ea9f2810ed7486a39ebeeda26e
Talk to you career counselor at school - it's their job to help you with this.
Parents, friends, and others in your network can help with this decision.
It's a big decision and you can never start too early on it!
Dive into it! Find your passion! Good luck!

Some people start with very specific education like college degrees in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, etc.... However, many people find their way into it later in life.
I specifically got a degree in Mechanical Engineering and my first job out of college was with a software company that made CAD software. That's how I was introduced to the software world. Now I'm a solutions architect for a software company in cyber security. Be open minded about your path and when you see an opportunity, make the jump.
