How easy is networking and finding jobs as an Interior-Architect and Interior designer, and how is that experience different for each one?

Originally, I wanted to go into Set Design, but I decided to go into something a bit more 'Stable.' Still, I haven't had a chance to speak to professionals, and I would love to hear their opinions and experience on this! [Bonus question: How difficult would It be for an Interior Architect to possibly find a job and be taught the necessary skills to be a Set Designer (in film or theater) or a Historic-Preservationist for buildings and such?]
