To those who are veterinarians or veterinary students, what was the most unexpectedly difficult part of your journey in the field & how did you overcome?

#Fall 25 I'm a current senior in high school looking to major in either biology or animal science because I would like to get my doctorate and become a vet. From my research, it seems that there isn't just one set pathway for veterinary students so I'm weighing my pros and cons with each school and program I look at. Regardless of where I go, I want to be prepared and know what to expect.
