- You will need to research under what circumstances a Ph.dD is required. See the Outlook Occupation Handbook for details about this profession and many related ones. I highly recommend visiting a state college library and talking with the Information desk to locate a librarian who specializes in this subject area. They will be able to direct you to wonderful resources. Check to see if you can have an online "chat" or phone call as well.
