In layperson terms, what do you actually do at work?

I support firm partners and an on site engagement team. This includes, but is not limited to, acting as the face of the firm at the client site, interacting with C-level executives and board members on behalf of my team in order to manage scheduling and planning, working with other executive assistants to create seamless days for our execs, and trying to be two steps ahead of upcoming events.

When you were a student, did you do anything outside of school to build skills or get knowledge that has helped your career?

When I was a student, I worked full time while going to school full time. I was able to accomplish this by taking as many classes as I could online & in the evenings. Doing this gave me a huge leg up compared to my peers that did not work in a professional setting while going to school. By the time I graduated I already had 4+ years experience under my belt, while my classmates were entering the workforce with no professional experience.
