Hope

I am a hard-working university student, currently enrolled at Dalhousie University achieving a 3.95 GPA in my program of Bachelor of Recreation and Management. I am also involved in the Management Society and play on 4 intramural sports teams.
I have been working in the summer for the past five years at various jobs, gaining a variety of experiences.
I have been a soccer camp counselor at Upper Canada College for 3 years, working with 7-12-year-olds to teach them soccer skills and keep them organized and interested. I worked with 4 other counselors in the same role and we coordinated weekly drills and exercises culminating a “World Cup” each week.
I have also worked at Hollywood Gelato, learning how to stay calm and focused in a fast-paced and demanding environment. I worked shifts and learned to be flexible and available.
In addition to paid work, I have been a strong advocate for bereaved children since my father died in 2009. I have volunteered my time at Dr. Jay’s Children’s Grief Centre at Family night events throughout the year.

I thrive in group settings and work best when working as a team with others. I have played competitive sports (soccer, volleyball) since I was about 8 and I know how to be a team leader and also a team player- whatever role is needed to get the job done.

I am looking forward to the next chapter of work and experience in my life and give my all to whatever it is.
