What teachers should we communicate with for letters of recommendations?

I’ve always felt that some subjects are noted beneficial than others and have always wondered if the subject that the teacher taught had any influence on colleges choices.? #recommendation #college #college-admissions

Thank you comment icon For me, I asked the teachers that I had developed the closest relationships with in my time at high school. I think you should definitely try to ask a teacher of a subject that is related to your college/career interests. Best of luck! Ethan

Hi,

You could possibly communicate with

1) Teacher/s that have known you for more than a year (the longer they have known you for, the better it is) and have taught you more than 1 course/subject
2) Your faculty advisor/s
3) Teachers who have been your mentor/guide for any (academic/research or otherwise) project or group/club activity that you were a part of

Your letter/s of recommendation could then include how these teachers were a witness to your professional (and possibly, personal) growth.

Hope this helps!!!

If you have a favorite teacher (no matter the subject), a letter from them that recommends you can't hurt. Second, I would seek teachers relative to your major. For instance, when I applied to engineering colleges, I asked my calculus, physics and chemistry teachers for letters of recommendation. Good luck!!!</span>
