From my experience, your career is like a marathon, not a sprint. Every 3 to 4 years, take a moment to think about where you are and decide if you want to make a change. I encourage everyone to look for something they enjoy and are good at, something that also helps society. If you start with strong belief in what you're doing, you'll likely have fewer doubts. But if doubts do come up and you feel like you need a change, it's perfectly fine to go for it. Always follow what makes you happy. Just keep in mind, it's a marathon.

Hi David! Absolutely, I’ve definitely had moments where I doubted the importance of my work. Even while chasing a dream I truly believed in, I sometimes questioned if I was really capable of living it out. What kept me going was reminding myself why I started and holding onto the passion that fueled me in the first place. I found strength in small wins, in the growth I experienced, and in the impact my work had on others. There can't possibly be big moments everyday that make you feel accomplished and satisfied. I learned that it’s about showing up, even when it’s hard, and trusting that it matters and will turn into something bigger and you'll feel accomplished.

Hi David,
Absolutely, I think about it every day.
Questioning and reflecting on the importance of what I do, both at work and in life, is what drives my growth and improvements.
Just like an athlete who questions their training and effort to reach new goals, it helps them push to the next level!
For me, being too sure of things limits my creativity, while doubts open up a world of possibilities.
Wishing you all the best,
Melanie
