I am a physician, not a radiology technologist, but I have worked with many, and understand their work reasonably well. One must get a certification that requires a minimum of two years of education (there are many programs in Ohio that offer this). Many choose to take extra time/courses to become expert in ultrasonography (also consider echocardiography). Most larger hospitals and imaging centers have "lead techs" for each modality, so there are leadership opportunities if you put in the effort to become an expert.
Several from Antwerp are asking questions about this field - I am guessing you may have had someone come present on the career. Do explore both radiology technologist and other healthcare professions. We need good people in most all healthcare careers!
