Hi Mariana,
Building good habits can be tough, but they're important for both studying and working. Here are some tips that helped me:
- If a task takes 5 minutes or less, do it right away. The quick win feels great!
- Study for 20 minutes, then rest for 10. Think of the break as a reward for your focus.
- Figure out your best study time. Whether it's night or morning, use your natural rhythm to your benefit.
Hope these tips help!

Hi Mariana! My advice would be to tell yourself to "start" working for 5 minutes, which could break the cycle of procrastinating. I would also suggest that you utilize the pomodoro method. It is extremely important to take breaks since studying for long periods of time could be counterproductive. I would recommend that you write down your tasks in a to do list as well, but remember to break down the tasks into smaller chunks. It can be overwhelming to just "study for an exam." I would break the task up into "reading notes", "doing practice questions", "reviewing mistakes", etc. to make tasks more digestible. Good luck with your studies!
