What jobs, internships, or job shadowing experiences do you recommend having before applying for a radiology technician program?
I am applying for the radiology technician program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester and would like to boost my experience in this field.

From my experience, you’ll just need to complete any pre requisite classes and I’d probably recommend shadowing a tech at your local hospital’s radiology department to get a glimpse into the every day tech life!
You don’t really need any internship experience before hand, you’re gunna have plenty of clinical hours to complete once you enter the program (think unpaid internship hours at a hospital/outpatient imaging site, etc) where you’ll get plenty of first hand experience. Good luck!!

When you’re close to the end of your program, your school will have a list of options locally for you to apply for internships/ externships. Depending on how many hours you need to complete, you may have 2 to 4 different locations to go to for experience. They may split it into two months, or more per location. Depending on if the location likes your work ethics, they may ask to hire you. Wait until you’re done with completing all your hours at each location before you decide to apply.
