Hi,
It is great that you want to strat at such an early age to start carving your own road and to start earning money.
You have to be in an agreement with your parents or with your tutors before starting working, this will help you navigate the period you work easier, and they can offer you the support you might need in this fresh start.
Define your motives why you want to work and earn money because that will help you stay motivated and convince your tutors on the actions you want to take.
Don't set expectations, what you like and what suits you will come with experience and time.
Start whatever small and legal job you find and just start.
Good luck!
Firstly you need to make sure you have all the legal requirements met. Here is a snip of a Google search on the California regulations that can be found in the Child Labor Law Booklet :https://www.dir.ca.gov/dlse/ChildLaborLawPamphlet.pdf. "Except in limited circumstances defined in law and summarized in the Child Labor Law Booklet, all minors under 18 years of age employed in the state of California must have a permit to work. Prior to permitting a minor to work, employers must possess a valid Permit to Employ and Work. The Permit to Employ and Work are issued on the same form. A Permit to Employ and Work in industries other than entertainment is usually issued by an authorized person at the minor's school. During summer months or when school is not in session the work permit is obtained from the superintendent of the school district in which the minor resides."
Secondly, to start working, even part time, you should try to find in available jobs or try to create yourself a job profile on different platforms like eJob or Linkedin, where they will help you create a C.V. that you can update in time based on the experience you gain over time.
Third, find your "why", Why do you want to work?
