What steps should I take during my freshman year to ensure I am on the right track? #Spring25

I am a high school senior. I have decided to pursue a career in Early Childhood education. I have been accepted as a freshman to the college of my choice. Now that I am all set to leave for college, I am nervous because I am somewhat of an introvert. What steps should I take during my freshman year to ensure I am on the right track? Is there someone on the college campus that I should stay in contact with to help me sign up for the right classes? Is there an office or group that I should familiarize myself with if I need to sign up to get a tutor? How do I become a member of a study group if I don't know anyone else on campus? #Spring25

Sharon’s Answer

Focus on your studies during your freshman year by signing up for challenging classes, keeping your grades up, and developing good study habits. Get involved in clubs and activities, follow your interests, and build friendships with other students and teachers.

Don’t shy away from tough classes; they prove you're serious about learning and can help you get better jobs later on. And remember to enjoy yourself! You can find what you love, meet new friends, and improve your leadership skills by joining clubs and activities.
